 The Matchmore line was developed out of large demand for a Matchless(TM) style amp. They incorporate the same open loop power amp design as well as very similar preamps (Voxylady and Chief) in order to produce the tone that these amps are famous for, the Voxy chime.
However all Matchmore series amps have true stereo preamps, stereo poweramps and virtually transparent stereo tube driven FX loops, not available on other amps of similar design..
Stereo preamps:
Each Fabamps Matchmore head comes stock with both12ax7(Chief) and Ef86(VoxyLady) preamps. The Chief has Gain, Bass, Mids and Treble controls and the VoxyLady it’s own gain control plus a brill switch. Both channels are capable of cleans, chime and a fair bit of singing vintage grit. Such Fab sounds now available in true stereo!
FX Loops:
Each loop is supplemented with a Return level control knob, a panel switch for your choice of Series or Parallel connection, channel reverse switch, and a three conductor FX jack.
Poweramps:
Each Matchmore head has separate standby and mains power switches and indicators, a detachable power cord, speaker phase switch, and for every poweramp channel, a Master volume, Top control knob, ½ power switch(pentode/triode). Tube type rectified power supply with a bypass switch is a common option available at a reasonable price, please call or write for details. Definitely a classic amp but with modern features...
