Perhaps the most influential step in the evolution of guitar tube amps came with the development of series connected pre amplifier stages. This superlead design allowed Rock music a new distinct tone and gave electric guitar a new cutting edge to get through the mix. Over several years the Metalhead series was researched & designed to produce an accurate representation of the distinct tones of the 60s and 70s and still take a pedal if you need Hair metal. Although several options can be added if you prefer (please see options list), the Metalhead was kept somewhat simple to insure the best tone, lowest noise and absolute Fab price.

Preamp:
Each Fabamps Metalhead series amp comes with 2 British toned preamps utilizing DC filaments for low noise and hum free function and is equipped with foot switchable relay driven channel change.The Metalhead dirty channel has a full FAB tone stack; Gain, Mids, Bass, Treble, Sweep and Volume control knobs plus a foot switchable boost that takes the gain from classic overdrive to modded-superlead. The Splexi channel covers most cleans to nice blues break-up and is complimented by it own stack of controls; Gain, Mids, Bass, Treble and Volume.

Poweramp:
The poweramp includes Master volume, Presence and Resonance controls as well as Power, Stand-by, Half power, and impedance switches. Output tubes are plug and play, no biasing required.
