FAB Scamp, single channel, The Scamp is designed for those wanting a small and simple combo. Comes in three possible designs, one British, one American and new for 2006, the OD model. The British version is based on the earliest British guitar amp design and retains the use of the EF86, a classic pentode preamp. This feeds a Triode connected single ended EL84 for about 2 watts output. A solid state rectifier combined with the EF86 preamp/Triode poweramp makes for some really tight vintage British tone. The American version comes with the same tube layout as the famous Fender(TM) 5F1 Champ; 5Y3 rectifier, 6V6 power output tube and a 12ax7 for the preamp. Producing about 5 watts like the original but with greater clean headroom, a bit more gain, and a lot less noise. The OD version, or Superlead Scamp, is for those looking for the One Knob Wonder. Simply stated, higher gain than any one knob tube amp sold anywhere to date. So high in fact, that the 3rd tube in this amp is another dual triode! Stock tube layout, 12ax7, 12au7, 6N1-P(6DJ8) for one big watt of overdrive tube tone. All models come with a Power Indicator lamp, Volume Control, Brill (bright) Switch, 3 position power switch which allows Stand-by for longer tube life, a 3 prong power cord, and an isolated ground for the quietest and safest operation possible. Each Scamp amp allows you to pick one free extra option from this list ~
